GE.S.P.I. s.r.l. is a Sicilian company founded in 1984, on the experience of “Cooperativa Unione Marinara” and it operates in the environmental and port services sector.

Today, it manages a waste-to-energy plant for hazardous special waste, strategically located within the Megara roadstead to serve both the port and the industrial hub. The company also owns a fleet of vessels operating within the Augusta harbour area.

Managed by skilled and qualified Sicilian technicians, GE.S.P.I. provides an integrated service with a comprehensive approach to environmental issues, that includes both technical-administrative consultancy and integrated handling of industrial, medical, and port waste.

The company oversees all waste management logistics, constantly seeking the most efficient recovery and treatment solutions, in full compliance with current environmental regulations.

All services and activities provided by GE.S.P.I. are carried out in compliance with the required permits issued by the competent authorities. The main authorisations include:

– Integrated Environmental Authorisation (AIA) – D.D.G. No. 175 of 01/03/2019, issued by the Region of Sicily, relating to the company’s waste-to-energy plant.

– Environmental Managers Register Authorisation – No. 863/O, Categories 1/E – 4/D – 5/C – 8/F.

– Concession from the Port System Authority of the Eastern Sicily Sea for the collection and disposal of port waste.

– Concession from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport for the supply of lubricating oils to ships.

– Concession from. the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to operate the emergency escape assistance service for oil terminals.

Certified Management Systems

GE.S.P.I. adopts an integrated management system covering Quality, Environmental Management, and Safety. The management systems are certified by RINA certification agency in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards.

ORGANISATIONAL, MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL MODEL pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/2001

The Administrative Body of GE.S.P.I. S.r.l. has approved the Organisational, Management and Control Model in accordance with the Italian Legislative Decree No. 231/2001.
This Model aims to define the system of operational and behavioural rules governing the Company’s activities, as well as the additional control measures adopted to prevent the perpetration of the various types of violation covered by Legislative Decree No. 231/2001.

GE.S.P.I. S.r.l. has also appointed a Supervisory Body, which is responsible for monitoring the functioning of and compliance with the Model.

CODE OF ETHICS

The Company has adopted a Code of Ethics that defines fundamental ethical principles, behavioural rules, and responsibilities. The Company recognises, upholds, and assumes as binding values and imperatives the Code of Ethics. All recipients of the Code are required to comply with its principles and provisions.
